Press Trust of India New Delhi

Lead prices fell by 40 paise at Rs 155.40 per kg in futures market on Wednesday as speculators cut bets, taking negative cues from the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in October fell by 40 paise, or 0.26 per cent, at Rs 155.40 per kg in a business turnover of 1,552 lots.

The metal for delivery in November shed 36 paise, or 0.22 per cent, at Rs 155.90 per kg in 18 lots.

Analysts said off-loading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in physical market, mainly influenced lead prices at futures trade.
