Lead down by 0.3% on global cues

Speculators reduced exposures amid a weak trend in base metals in global markets and subdued domestic demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Lead prices edged lower by 0.30% to Rs 115.20 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced exposures amid a weak trend in base metals in global markets and subdued domestic demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in current month shed 35 paise, or 0.30%, to Rs 115.20 per kg in a business turnover of 240 lots.

The metal for delivery in February also fell by a similar margin to trade at Rs 116.25 per kg in six lots.

Marketmen said a weak trend in base metals overseas on low global demand growth concern led to the fall in lead prices at futures trade here.

Besides, weak demand at domestic spot markets from consuming industries weighed on prices, they said.
