Lead down by 0.4% on subdued domestic demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Tracking a weak trend at domestic spot market on subdued demand, lead fell 0.38% to Rs 118.75 per kg in futures trade today as traders trimmed their holdings.

In futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in current month contracts shed 45 paise or 0.38% to Rs 118.75 per kg in a business turnover of 293 lots.

Also, metal for delivery in January contracts fell 40 paise or 0.34% to Rs 118.75 per kg in a turnover of 103 lots.

Analysts said that subdued demand from battery-makers and other consuming industries at the domestic spot market, mainly kept pressure on lead futures prices here but firmness in base metal pack at the London Metal Exchange capped the losses.
