Amid uptick in demand at domestic spot market, lead prices edged higher by 0.13 per cent to Rs 152.20 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in March edged up by 20 paise, or 0.13 per cent to Rs 152.20 per kg in business turnover of 346 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in April contract was trading higher by 15 paise, or 0.10 per cent to Rs 152.65 per kg in 10 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions created by traders after pick up in demand from battery-makers in the physical markets helped lead prices to trade marginally higher in futures trade.
