Lead futures edge up 0.26% on demand uptick

Lead prices edged higher by 0.26 per cent to Rs 135.65 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions after pick up in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in June month traded higher by 35 paise, or 0.26 per cent to Rs 135.65 per kg in business turnover of 385 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in July month contracts edged up by 20 paise, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 135.95 per kg in 7 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built-up by participants backed by upsurge in domestic demand, particularly from battery-makers, mainly helped lead prices to trade higher at futures trade.
