Lead prices fell by 0.85 per cent to Rs 116.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions amidst subdued demand from battery-makers in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in December declined by 60 paise, or 0.85 per cent, to Rs 116.60 per kg in a business turnover of 2,677 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in January next year eased by 75 paise, or 0.63 per cent, to Rs 118 per kg in 316 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators on the back of subdued demand from battery-makers in the spot market mainly led to the fall in lead prices at futures trade.
