Lead gains by 0.6% on spot demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Buoyed by pick-up in domestic demand and positive global cues, lead futures edged higher by 0.59% to Rs 111.60 per kg today as speculators enlarged positions.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in November was trading higher by 50 paise or 0.59% to Rs 111.60 per kg, with a turnover of 1,798 lots.

The metal for delivery in December also gained 55 paise, or 0.49% to trade at Rs 112.55 per kg in 36 lots.

Marketmen said apart from domestic demand, particularly from battery-makers, gains in copper and other base metals in overseas market, supported the upside in lead prices in futures trade.
