Lead remained up for the second day with prices advancing by 1.44 per cent to Rs 169.25 per kg in futures trading today as traders engaged in enlarging their positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in November rose by Rs 2.40, or 1.44 per cent, to Rs 169.25 per kg, in a business turnover of 4,263 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 2.25, or 1.35 per cent, to Rs 169.35 per kg in 817 lots.
Market analysts said widening of positions by participants on the back of rising demand from battery-makers in spot market mainly kept lead prices higher at futures trade.
