Lead prices eased lower by 0.20 per cent to Rs 146.85 per kg in futures trade today as speculators cut bets, tracking a weak trend at the spot market on easing demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July slipped 30 paise, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 146.85 per kg in a business turnover of 379 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in August contracts shed 15 paise, or 0.10 per cent, to Rs 148.25 per kg in 206 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market kept lead prices down in futures trade.
