Lead prices traded higher by 0.58 per cent to Rs 155.50 per kg in futures trading today as speculators built up fresh positions amid upsurge in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in March month edged up by 90 paise, or 0.58 per cent to Rs 155.50 per kg in business turnover of 1,316 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in April contract rose by 75 paise, or 0.48 per cent to Rs 155.80 per kg in 20 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions created by traders after uptick in demand by battery-makers in the physical markets mainly helped lead prices to trade higher at futures trade.
