Lead prices were trading up by 0.64 per cent to Rs 149.45 per kg in futures market today as traders created fresh positions, taking positive cues from spot market on upsurge in demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July edged up by 95 paise, or 0.64 per cent, to Rs 149.45 per kg in a business turnover of 1,575 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in August traded higher by 80 paise, or 0.54 per cent, to Rs 150.10 per kg in 20 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in lead futures to fresh positions built up by participants backed by rise in demand from battery-makers.
