Lead futures rise 0.69 pc in thin trading

Lead prices were up by 0.69 per cent to Rs 116.50 per kg in futures trade in evening session today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions, driven by pick up on spot demand.

The exchange opened for the evening session as it remained closed in the morning for 'Mahavir Jayanti'.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in April month edged up by 80 paise, or 0.69 per cent to Rs 116.50 per kg in business turnover of 972 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in May contracts traded higher by 60 paise, or 0.52 per cent to Rs 117.05 per kg in 11 lots.
 

Market analysts attributed the rise in lead futures to pick up in demand in the spot market.
