Lead prices slipped by 0.08% to Rs 127.85 per kg in futures trading today due to sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market amid a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in September fell 10 paise, or 0.08%, to Rs 127.85 per kg in a business turnover of 367 lots.
The metal for delivery in October fell by a similar margin to trade at Rs 129 per kg in a business volume of five lots.
Market analysts said besides the sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market, a weak trend in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange kept pressure on lead prices at futures trade.
