Lead prices fell further by 0.21 per cent to Rs 166.45 per kg in futures trading today as speculators engaged in cutting down holdings, taking negative cues from spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in

July fell by 35 paise, or 0.21 per cent to Rs 166.45 per kg in business turnover of 11 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in June was trading lower by 30 paise, or 0.18 per cent to Rs 165.50 per kg in 425 lots.

Analysts said cutting down of positions by traders owing to slackened demand from battery makers in the physical market, mainly put pressure on lead prices at futures trade.
