Lead prices were down 1.34 per cent to Rs 158.85 per kg amid muted domestic demand in futures trading today as participants trimmed their exposure along with a weak trend in base metals overseas.
Lead for November declined by Rs 2.15 or 1.34 per cent to Rs 158.85 per kg in a business turnover of 179 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in December shed Rs 2.05 or 1.27 per cent to Rs 159.20 per kg in 91 lots.
Marketmen said the fall in lead futures was triggered by a weak trend at the domestic spot markets due to sluggish demand from consuming industries, particularly battery-makers and squaring up of positions by participants, today being the last day of the November series.
