Lead prices drifted lower by 0.29 per cent to Rs 136.75 per kg in futures trading today as traders reduced their positions, driven by easing demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in June shed 40 paise, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 136.75 per kg, in a business turnover of 147 lots.
On similar lines, the metal for delivery in May weakened by 35 paise, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 135.70 per kg in 2,420 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants on the back of weak demand from battery-makers in the spot market, mainly led to the decline in lead prices at futures trade.
