Amid weak domestic demand and bearish global trend, lead prices were down by 0.87% to Rs 108.25 per kg in futures trading today as traders trimmed their positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in January month declined by 0.95 paise or 0.87% to Rs 108.25 per kg in a business turnover of 847 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in February contracts eased by 85 paise or 0.77% to Rs 108.95 per kg in 17 lots.
Marketmen said the fall in lead futures was due to sluggish demand from battery-makers and other consuming industries at domestic spot markets, and a weak trend in the base metals pack overseas.
