Lead prices traded lower by 0.40 per cent to Rs 135.65 per kg in futures trading today as traders reduced their exposures, driven by subdued demand at spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July fell by 55 paise, or 0.40 per cent to Rs 135.65 per kg in business turnover of 1 lot.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in June contract traded lower by 25 paise, or 0.18 per cent to Rs 135.45 per kg in 225 lots.

Analysts said trimming of positions by speculators due to slackened demand from battery-makers in the spot market, mainly helped lead prices to trade lower at futures trade.
