Lead prices eased by 0.50 per cent to Rs 169.55 per kg in futures market today as speculators trimmed positions, taking negative cues from the spot market on muted demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in May declined by 85 paise, or 0.50 per cent, to Rs 169.55 per kg in a business turnover of 641 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in June contracts shed 80 paise, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 170.55 per kg in 31 lots.

Analysts said cutting down of positions by traders owing to low demand from battery-makers in the physical market weighed on lead prices in futures trade.
