Lead prices weakened by 0.84 per cent to Rs 153.25 per kg in futures trade today as participants reduced exposure amid fall in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in March fell by Rs 1.30, or 0.84 per cent, to Rs 153.25 per kg in business turnover of 1,159 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in April contracts was trading lower by Rs 1.10, or 0.71 per cent, to Rs 154.10 per kg in 42 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by traders owing to sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market led to the slide in lead futures.
