Lead down 0.3% on global cues, weak demand

Metal for delivery in August contracts also fell 30 paise, or 0.25%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Lead eased 0.34 per cent to Rs 117.75 per kg in futures trading today largely in line with a weak trend overseas amidst subdued demand at the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July eased by 40 paise, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 117.75 per kg in a business turnover of 625 lots.

Metal for delivery in August contracts also fell 30 paise, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 118.85 per kg in 36 lots.

Analysts said weakness in metal at the London Metal Exchange (LME) and subdued demand from battery-makers at the spot market mainly put pressure on lead prices in futures trade.

Globally, lead fell 0.30 per cent at the LME.
