Lead prices moved up by 1.39 per cent to Rs 134.75 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions following upsurge in demand from battery-maker in the domestic spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in January traded Rs 1.85, or 1.39 per cent, higher at Rs 134.75 per kg in business turnover of 1,684 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in February traded higher by Rs 1.85, or 1.38 per cent to Rs 135.85 per kg in 62 lots.
