Leaders in Rayalaaseema demand separate statehood

Leaders of Rayalaseema region in Andhra Pradesh today said that making Rayalaseema a separate state can only resolve "perennial" problems of the region.

A meeting was conveyed by Rayalaseema Vidyavantula Vedika here in this regard.

They alleged that the region was betrayed by governments and politicians since decades.

Bojja Dasaratha Rami Reddy, general secretary of 'All India Farmers Federation' said his injustice has continued to the region.

"Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Jagan Mohan Reddy are neglecting this drought region" he alleged.

M V.Ramana Reddy, senior leader from the region said separate statehood for Rayalaseema is the need of the hour. "This is the only solution for resolving the problems he added.
