Most advanced economies are showing signs of strengthening recovery, the OECD said on today, highlighting growth in Japan, the United States and Britain.

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development said that its monthly composite index of leading indicators of economic activity (CLIs) "point to economic growth firming in Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom."

The index for Canada "indicates a positive change in momentum," the OECD said.

The 18-member eurozone, including France and Italy which are a cause of concern to some analysts, continued to show a positive change in momentum.

Germany was pushing forwards towards greater growth.

"In the emerging economies, the CLIs point to a tentative positive change in momentum in China, to growth around trend in Brazil and Russia, and to growth below trend in India," the OECD said.
