Lecturer commits suicide a day after marriage

A day after his marriage, a college lecturer committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree at his house in Nagla Rathi village here, police said today.

Satish Singh, who was a lecturer in Degree College in Debai of district Bulandshahr, committed suicide on the intervening night of April 17-18 by hanging himself from a tree at his residential complex in village Nagla Rathi in Daurala area, they said.

Satish got married to a granddaughter of an ex-MLA on April 16 and had come to his house with the bride on April 17, police said. When the incident happened, the family members were not present at the home as they had gone to attend another marriage ceremony at a relative's house, police said.
 

Police, after getting information from villagers, reached the spot yesterday morning and sent the body for post mortem.

Daurala Police Inspector Janak Singh said that in post mortem report asphyxiation was reported as cause for the death.

He said that no FIR was filed in the case yet by the relatives of the lecturer. Police is trying to ascertain the facts about his death from his mobile phone details, Singh said.
