LED lights will illuminate the state capital by replacing the sodium vapour and other lamps to save about 40 per cent energy, Tripura Power Minister Manik Dey said today.
The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) would sign an MOU with the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), an undertaking of the Union Ministry of Power, soon to replace the old lights, Dey told reporters.
"For this we have to replace 32,016 light points and it would save 40 per cent of the consumption and save 2.8 crore per annum. The entire project would be completed by EESL," he said.
