LeEco to step into US market later this month

Chinese handset maker LeEco will foray into the US market later this month that will mark its commencement of operations in the fourth country outside its homeground.

"LeEco will host an event titled US Bigbang that will be held in Innovation Hangar, San Francisco, on October 19," the company said in a statement.

LeEco, which has a slew of items like smartphones, smart TVs, accessories and other ecosystem-based products in its portfolio, has a presence in mainland China, Hong Kong, India and Russia.

The company has already announced appointment of key executives in the US to help strengthen its presence in the mature North American market.
 

Richard Ren has been appointed as the acting president of LeEco North America and president of Smart Devices Overseas Business, North America.

In addition, Ralph L Leung will lead North America corporate finance and development initiatives.

LeEco has also appointed Rob Chandhok chief research & development officer for the company's North America operations.
