Amruda Nair, the grand daughter of founder of Leela Group of Hotels Captain C P Krishnan Nair, and Qatar-based Al Sawari Holding and Al Faisal Holdings have come together to form a joint venture company in the hospitality segment.

Aiana Hotels & Resorts, the JV in which both partners have an equal share, will launch upscale hotels that will offer facilities customised to the traveller of today with an intuitive service ethic based on traditional Indian hospitality values, a release said here today.

The company, which aims to emerge as a leading operator of hotels, resorts and serviced apartments in West Asia, Indian Sub-Continent and South East Asia, has set a target of launching five hotels in India and an equal number globally by 2020. The hospitality brand plans to launch one hotel in Doha this year.

"I am delighted to be introducing a brand I am confident will become the preferred choice of travellers seeking authentic experience that will stay with them long after they have checked out.

"Our service, design, and operating philosophy is geared to exceed the expectations of a new generation of savvy travellers. We call it Hospitality 2.0," said Amruda, Aiana Hotels & Resorts LLC Joint Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

Al Sawari Holding is part of Al Faisal Holding, one of Qatar's leading commercial and industrial conglomerates. It is now a worldwide, multi-million dollar enterprise with an extensive range of business activities.

Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani, Chairman of Al Sawari Holding and Al Faisal Holding, said: "Given the long standing relationship between Qatar and India, there is also great synergy in the way we travel.

"This is why we want to bring Aiana as a new lifestyle hotel brand to the Middle East and will continue to support Aiana through our ambitious expansion plans for acquisitions in key destinations starting with the property in Doha and many more to follow in Western Europe (London) and the US.
