The Left Front today took out a massive rally in the city to protest against alleged violence let loose by TMC workers in collusion with the police on Left activists during yesterday's country-wide general strike.
All 17 Left parties participated in the rally which started from Subodh Mullick square and ended at Entally.
Over 1,000 persons were arrested in the state yesterday for trying to enforce the general strike called by central trade unions.
