The Congress and the Left Front today walked out of the West Bengal Assembly after being disallowed a discussion on the Bhangor protest-agitation.
A protest has been going on in Bhangor in South 24-Parganas district for the last five months demanding withdrawal of a power grid project.
"Both Left and Congress have wanted to discuss the Bhangor issue. But we were not allowed to speak and that is why we decided to walk out from the Assembly," Congress chief whip Manoj Bhattacharya said.
Congress and Left MLAs shouted slogans against the government.
