Accusing the BJP and TMC of spreading communalism in Bengal, the Left Trade unions have decided to launch a "massive" agitation across the country from tomorrow against communalism and intolerance.

The mass organisations of the Left have decided to launch a mass agitation programme throughout the country from November 14-22 to spread the message of secularism, fight against the "reign of terror" of TMC and unite the masses on the issues of price rise, respect for women etc.

"The mass organisations of the Left will launch mass agitations from November 14-22 against price rise, communalism, intolerance and reign of terror by the TMC," CPI(M) leader Shyamal Chakraborty said.

Former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee will attend the programme tomorrow.

Apart from the fight against communalism, the mass organisations will also fight on issues such as withdrawal of subsidy from agricultural products and attack on artists fighting against intolerance.

Opposition Left Front led by CPI(M) has decided to organise rallies and small meetings across the state on December 6 when Babri Masjid was demolished in 1992.

Lashing out at the BJP for 'spreading communalism and intolerance' throughout the country, the CPI(M) leadership had pledged to fight against communalism with all its strength.
