Opposition Left Front members walked out of the Assembly today after Speaker Biman Banerjee refused to admit an adjournment motion brought by Leader of Opposition and CPI-M member Surya Kanta Mishra on attack on police in the state.

Reading out the motion after the Question Hour, Mishra said that yesterday a security personnel was tying the shoe laces of a minister, to which the Speaker said that this was not mentioned in the motion which was submitted to the Assembly.

Mishra continued that the government failed to provide adequate security to the people of the state and the police have turned out to be henchmen of the ruling party and cannot work independently.

He said that the police force was also subject to attack by the ruling party workers.

Soon after he read out the motion, the Left members started shouting slogans and rushed to the well moving in circles.

Later, they walked out of the House.
