Amid speculations of his switching to Trinamool Congress, Left Front MLA Udayan Guha has resigned from all posts in his party and today praised West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Guha, an MLA of Forward Bloc which is a constituent of Left Front, has time and again expressed his displeasure over the functioning of the party's top leadership.

A lawmaker from Dinhata assembly constituency of Coochbehar, he had recently met Banerjee in the state assembly.

Asked about the meeting, Guha said, "I had gone to meet her in public view. I have nothing to hide. I had not gone to meet her wearing veil. I admire Mamata Banerjee personally."

Asked about whether he would join TMC, Guha replied "I have never taken any decision without discussing with the people of my constituency. If I take any decision I will take it only after talking to the people of Dinhata."

When asked whether he has resigned from the party posts, Guha refused to make any comment and said, "If you have to ask anything ask my party leaders."

A senior Forward Bloc leader told PTI on condition of anonymity that Guha has resigned from all party posts expressing his displeasure over its functioning.

"We are trying to talk to him and address his grievances. Let's see what happens," he added.
