The MPs said Defence Minister A K Antony and Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi should intervene in the issue to put an end to the 'continuous ill-treatment' of Non-Resident Keralities by Air India.

M P Achuthan (CPI) and K Sampath (CPI-M) also wanted stern action against CISF personnel who allegedly manhandled passengers when the flight landed at the airport.

Achuthan said such incidents appeared to be part of 'a larger conspiracy' to break Air India and it was unfortunate that the Aviation Ministry colluded with such efforts.

They also demanded action against the woman pilot who caused the panic and airport officials who played a role in framing charges against passengers who protested against the inordinate delay of the flight in reaching its destination.

The MPs also demanded deployment of more women police personnel at airports in the state.
