The Left parties in Telangana have proposed the name of popular balladeer Gaddar as a candidate for coming Warangal Lok Sabha by-election.

CPI's Telangana state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy and CPI-M's Telangana state secretary T Veerabhadram met Gaddar, who is known for his pro-Naxal stand, and put forward the proposal before him, they told reporters.

They said that Gaddar would make a good Left candidate in view of his contribution for the upliftment of the masses.

However, the balladeer did not announce any decision on the proposal of the Left parties.

The by-election to the Warangal Lok Sabha seat has been necessitated by the resignation of Kadiam Srihari of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) after he became Deputy Chief Minister of the state.
