Senior leader of CPI, Pradeep Tewari, said here that the proposed Food Security Bill does not serve the purpose of ensuring food security for all citizens.

Left parties will conduct a month-long campaign from the grass-root level in all the states in July, he said adding that this will be followed by a continuous dharna during the monsoon session of Parliament from July 30 to August 3, 2012, in New Delhi in which thousands of people will participate.

Pradeep Tewari said that this dharna will see the participation of the national leaders of the Left parties, in which a large number of people shall participate from Uttar Pradesh.

He called upon the middle class of the state to come forward and join the campaign which shall be one step forward towards building a programme-based left democratic alternative to UPA and NDA.
