Legal aid clinic inaugurated

A Legal Aid Clinic to provide free legal service to the poor and needy was inaugurated by High Court Judge Dr K Bhakthavatsala here today.

'It is our responsibility to educate the people who are not aware of the law', he said addressing the audience after the inauguration. The programme was jointly organized by the Mangalore District Legal Service Authority, and the District Bar Association.

Legal Aid Centre would provide free legal service to the poor and needy, who are not aware of the law or to those who cannot afford access to legal help due to financial constraints. Every advocate's office should have this kind of legal aid clinic, Bhakthavatsala said.
 

District civil court Judges N S Patil and Uma M G, District Bar Association President P Ashok Ariga, and Bar Association secretary B Vittal Rai were present on the occasion.
