Leopard and deer skins seized, one arrested

Forest personnel today seized skins of a leopard and a deer near Rangamatia under Pithabata range in the foothills of Similipal in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district.

A person, who had purchased the skins from poachers, has been detained and further interrogation was on to identify the those involved in the killing of animals, deputy director, Similipal forests, Ajit Satapathy said.

The poachers had apparently fled the place after delivering the skins to their customer, when acting on a tip-off, the forest personnel nabbed him, he added.
