Leopard attacks cow

Forest officials have advised local

people not to venture into the deep forests for tending cattle after a leopard attacked a cow.

Officials said some farmers were tending their cattle in the Neithalapuram forest area near Thalawady yesterday when a leopard pounced on a cow. However, it fled after farmers raised an alarm, leaving the injured animal behind.

They also advised two-wheeler riders not to travel on the Thimbam ghat road, close to the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve forest area, after 6 p.M. To 6 a.M. As movement of leopards and tiger was high in the area.
