Leopard carcass found in Jalpaiguri

The carcass of a leopard was found today in a ravine in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district, officials said.

On the information provided by some locals, some forest workers rushed to the Gurjan tea garden area here and recovered the carcass, Divisional Forest Officer Sunita Ghatak said.

It is suspected that the carnivore died after its fall, the DFO said, adding that any involvement of a poacher is yet to ascertained.
