A leopard was trapped by irate villagers inside a cave in Nainital district, where it had dragged the body of a five-year-old girl after killing her.
The girl was attacked by the leopard yesterday morning when she was sleeping inside her house in the Bhatrojkhan area, police said.
The villagers, who organised a search for the girl, spotted the leopard with her body inside a cave, after which they blocked the mouth of the cave.
Forest officials have reached the spot and efforts are being made to capture the big cat.
