The body of the leopard was found during patrolling by the forest guards yesterday, forest ranger P N Purohit said adding the alleged poacher was arrested.
They also found a live wire connected to an 11 KV line from the Baskawah range where the feline was found dead.
A poacher belonging to Pardi tribe who was carrying electric wires similar to the one used in the killing of the leopard was arrested by the foresters.
The arrested poacher was identified as Prahlad Pardi(55), Purohit said adding he admitted to have placed the live wire which was connected to an 11 KV line.
The post-mortem of the leopard confirmed that its death was caused after it came in contact with the live wire.
