P Kalyan Kumar, Dy Conservator of Forests, Chandrapur Division said the carcass of a leopard was found in the compartment no 517 near Kawadpeth village by a beat guard during his routine patrolling today.
"It appears to be an old leopard. We are not in a position either to assess its gender or its age at this stage. As all its body parts are found intact and there is no electricity/power transmission line in the vicinity, this could be a case of natural death though it can be confirmed only after postmortem, he said.
