Leopard kills forest official

A 56-year-old Forest

Department official was killed after he was attacked by a leopard.

According to Forest Department sources, Krishnan, Forest Guard incharge for Thimbam check post, went into the forest area to attend nature's call yesterday. When he did not return even after an hour, other forest officials searched him and tried to contact him in vain over mobile.

Meanwhile, the villagers of the area noticed a leopard a lepord in the forests. The forest officials along with the villagers later found his body with signs of leopard paws in the forests.

About a month's back a man was injured when he was attacked by a leopard in the same forests.
