: A leopard killed two goats in a
cattle pound at Goundenpalayam village in the district, forest department officials said
The department in a release that the feline entered the cattle pound of a farmer at the village last night, killed the goats and ate one of them.
The leopard had recently given birth to two cubs,it said, adding that forest department personnel suspected that the animal and the cubs might have entered the pound in search of food and water
The officials urged people not to come out of their huts at night as they suspect that the leopard is still moving in the plains near the forest.
