The pugmarks of a leopard were
sighted at Ramabaiyalure forest settlement area in Thalawady forest, forest officials said.
Officials said they had gone to examine the carcass of a goat which was found dead in a farmer's land yesterday. They found that the goat died after a leopard attacked it and noticed the pugmarks in the area.
They asked villagers not to enter the forest area and advised them not to move during night.
The forest department granted Rs 2000 to the farmer who lost his goat in the attack by the leopard.
