Forest officials in Odisha today seized the skin of a leopard, which was suspected to have been killed by poachers inside Similipal National Park about six months ago.

The skin is 6.9 feet long and 2 feet wide, said Sanjay Swain, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Baripada here.

The animal would have been about 15 years old, Swain said, adding that two persons, identified as Chita Ranjan Pradhan (50) and Gajendra Jena (42) have been arrested.

The forest officials also seized the motorbike used for transportation of the skin. The duo were caught while taking the skin to nearby Balasore town to sell it, Swain said.
