A leopard along with her four cubs were spotted at Odlabari tea garden in Malbazar sub division area near here.
"The manager of the tea garden informed the forest personnel of Targhera range and Gazoldoba beat office following which they arrived at the spot, Gazoldoba Beat Officer Prem Rai said.
"The cubs were spotted but the team failed to detect the leopard after which the people of the area were sensitised that the animal could be in the vicinity because the cubs were in the tea garden area," he said.
"The leopard might have come from Talghera area and we are hoping that their mother will come back to take the cubs after dusk sets in," the officer said.
