The incident took place at around midnight when the owner of the house, Ramkrishna, was asleep.
He woke up on hearing his dog bark and found the wild cat lurking in a room and locked it inside immediately.
The forest department was alerted following which a team reached the spot and tranquilised the feline, officials said, adding that the animal would be released into the wild soon.
