Actress Leslie Jones fell victim to racial slurs on Twitter and the "Ghostbusters" star says she was left in tears reading "awful", hate-filled tweets about her.
The reason behind the abuses apparently was Jones' role in the rebooted "Ghostbusters", a movie that received acrid remarks for featuring an all-female cast.
Bombarding on the social media users, Jones wrote in a series of tweet, "It's so sad, most of these comments sound like they are from ignorant children. You have to hate yourself to put out that type of hate. I mean on my worst day I can't think of this type of hate to put out."

Jones added these abuses are the reasons why many celebrities stay away from social media.
"I used to wonder why some celebs don't have Twitter account. Now I know. You can't be nice and communicate with fans cause people crazy."
The actress asked Twitter to create some guidelines in order to keep derogatory remarks in check.
"Twitter, I understand you got free speech I get it. But there has to be some guidelines when you let spread like that. I feel like I'm in a personal hell. I didn't do anything to deserve this. It's just too much. It shouldn't be like this. So hurt right now."
Concluding her rant, Jones wrote, "I leave Twitter tonight with tears and a very sad heart. All this cause I did a movie. You can hate the movie but the shit I got today... wrong.
